Q. At 30 degree celcius, 103g of saturated solution of sodium chloride contains 30.9g of sodium chloride. Find the solubility of sodium chloride at 30 degree celcius.

Soln:
Here,
Weight of saturated solution = 103g
Weight of solute = 30.9g
Weight of solvent  = Wt. of saturated soln – wt. of solute
                                = 103g – 30.9g = 72.1g
Solubility = ?

We know that,
Solubility = (wt. of solute/wt. of solvent)*100
                 = (30.9/72.1)*100
                 = 0.43

Hence, solubility of sodium chloride at 300c is 0.43
